about the job
In this role, you will support portfolio administration and the prudent underwriting of Political Violence and Terrorism risks in alignment with the business plan. Operating within defined authority levels, you will interact across regional broker networks, perform risk assessments, and maintain underwriting integrity across the portfolio.
To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:
• Underwriting & Risk Analysis: Evaluating Political Violence and Terrorism risk submissions, exercising assigned underwriting authority, and referring complex exposures to senior underwriters when appropriate.
• Broker & Market Engagement: Developing and maintaining operational relationships with Lloyd's peers and regional broker partners to secure new and renewal business opportunities.
• Portfolio Administration: Reviewing policy slips, administering existing contracts, and processing risk entries within the Websure underwriting platform.
• Data & Aggregate Management: Tracking and monitoring portfolio data, pricing metrics, aggregate exposures, and income flows to produce analytical reports.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all underwriting activities adhere to internal procedures, MAS compliance guidelines, and Lloyd's conduct risk governance standards.

You will report directly to the Senior Underwriter for Specialty Risks within an established regional underwriting team. The working environment is structured, consultative, and focused on shared technical expertise across specialty insurance classes.
skills and experience required
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of insurance underwriting experience focusing on Political Violence and Terrorism risk classes.
• Technical Knowledge: Comprehension of underwriting principles, legal frameworks, political risk assessment, and terrorism insurance structures.
• System Proficiency: Experience managing data entry and risk administration within specialized underwriting databases, such as Websure.
• Industry Alignment: Understanding of Lloyd's syndicate operations, MAS regulatory standards, and regional broker distribution channels.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication abilities for technical discussions and professional broker interactions.
