about the role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Credit Controller to join the Finance department in Singapore. This permanent position, reporting to the Head of Finance for Asia, is central to managing the firm’s debtor and billing processes.
In this role, you will be responsible for the proactive management of the firm's debt cycle. Your credit control duties will involve developing and executing collection strategies with partners while liaising directly with clients to resolve payment queries. You will be instrumental in ensuring the firm meets its cash collection and debtor day targets. For billing operations, you will ensure timely and accurate invoice generation and resolve any billing disputes. You will also be responsible for accurately posting and reviewing funds and executing transfers to settle outstanding payments. Additionally, you will hold monthly working capital meetings with partners to review billing and collection progress. You will also serve as a key resource for fee earners and administrative staff, providing guidance on billing and credit control procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in credit control within a professional services environment. You should be a confident, resilient, and proactive individual with strong organizational skills. We are looking for someone who is not only skilled in collections but also a natural relationship builder. Your ability to engage credibly with both internal staff and clients is essential. Strong communication skills are a must, as you will need to tactfully challenge practices while maintaining professionalism. You should be highly numerate and IT-literacy, with strong proficiency in Excel. Experience with a practice management system is a significant advantage. A client-focused mindset and a commitment to service excellence are also crucial for success in this role. Knowledge of accounting procedures and relevant industry regulations is preferred.
