Regulatory Leadership: Act as the designated WSHO and Fire Safety Lead, ensuring all site activities align with statutory requirements and fire prevention codes.
Advisory & Strategy: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for various departments, providing guidance on Risk Management, Permit-to-Work systems, and localized fire safety protocols.
Incident Management: Partner with operational leads to facilitate comprehensive investigations into workplace incidents, utilizing root-cause analysis to implement long-term preventative measures.
Quality & Standards: Oversee the maintenance and renewal of Integrated Management Systems (IMS), specifically focusing on ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 frameworks.
Operational Oversight: Execute regular site evaluations and EHS audits, including audits of external client locations to ensure third-party compliance.
Data Reporting: Manage the tracking of safety performance metrics and KPIs, producing monthly summaries of safety trends and incident data.
Safety Culture: Spearhead behavioral safety initiatives and lead educational workshops for both internal staff and third-party contractors to promote a proactive hazard-reporting culture.
Compliance Monitoring: Track the status of necessary environmental and safety licenses, ensuring all operational permits remain current and valid.
Hygiene & Exposure: Conduct routine occupational health assessments to monitor and mitigate personnel exposure to workplace hazards.
Technical Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a technical/Engineering discipline.
Experience: At least 5 years of dedicated, full-time experience in an EHS capacity.
Certification: Must possess a Specialist Diploma in WSH and a certified Fire Safety Manager qualification.
Preferred Industry Background: Experience in High-Hazard environments (e.g., Heavy Industrial, Process Safety, or Chemical/Refinery sectors) is highly preferred.
