about the Role
As a key member of the finance team, you will be instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations. This includes diligently managing journal entries, performing accurate account reconciliations, and ensuring efficient fixed asset management. You will be responsible for meticulously monitoring and reviewing financial transactions, upholding proper documentation and approval processes, and maintaining thorough record-keeping. A core responsibility will be the preparation and meticulous review of financial statements, guaranteeing their accuracy and strict compliance with GAAP and local regulations. You will also play a crucial role in coordinating with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring the timely delivery of all required documents. Furthermore, you will ensure unwavering compliance with all local laws and regulations, including corporate tax and GST submissions, and other statutory filings.
This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the strategic development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls, thereby strengthening internal controls and mitigating financial risks. You will actively evaluate and improve these internal controls to enhance financial risk mitigation and ensure adherence to company policies. Collaborating with IT and other stakeholders, you will work to optimize and improve financial systems and processes, identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement and driving initiatives to boost efficiency and accuracy. Staying abreast of the latest accounting regulations, standards, and best practices will be essential to ensure ongoing compliance and to recommend necessary improvements. skills and experience needed
To thrive in this role, you should possess at least 5 years of extensive experience in Accounting or Financial Reporting, specifically within countries across the Asia Pacific region. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a prerequisite, with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or an equivalent professional qualification being highly preferred. Proficiency in various accounting software such as Xero, SAP, or QuickBooks, coupled with strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, is essential. Candidates must demonstrate a robust knowledge of GAAP, local accounting standards, and local tax regulations. Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills are crucial for seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. The ability to perform effectively under pressure, meet stringent deadlines, and adapt gracefully to evolving priorities is also key. Finally, a high level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information is paramount for this position.
