Kitchen Lead / Head Chef (Indian / Fusion QSR)

key responsibilities
Culinary Leadership
- Lead and oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation.
- Develop, refine, and execute a modern Indian fusion menu that aligns with brand vision and customer expectations.
- Innovate new dishes, seasonal specials, and café offerings in collaboration with the founders or culinary team.
Kitchen & Team Management
- Hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure efficient kitchen coverage.
- Foster a positive and productive kitchen culture with clear communication and teamwork.
Operational Efficiency
- Ensure all food items are prepared and served within standard operating procedures (SOPs), recipes, and portioning guidelines.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards at all times (HACCP compliant).
- Monitor and optimize kitchen workflows to maintain fast service in a QSR environment.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Manage ordering and inventory of ingredients and supplies.
- Control food costs, minimize waste, and ensure accurate stock levels.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure product quality and competitive pricing.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Conduct regular quality checks and ensure consistency across all outlets (if multi-site).
- Uphold all local food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Handle kitchen audits and resolve any compliance issues swiftly.
qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Kitchen Lead in a QSR, casual dining, or high-volume kitchen.
- Strong experience and passion for Indian cuisine is a must.
- Requirement to be able to communicate in 'English.
- Experience in menu development and cost control.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment.
