We are partnering an established family office (2nd generation) seeking an experienced and driven Fixed Income Portfolio Manager to build and lead the growing fixed income desk. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to shape the strategy and operations of a critical investment function from the ground up within an existing, robust framework.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing fixed income portfolios across Asia Investment Grade (IG), Asia High Yield (HY), or Global Investment Grade markets. You'll be instrumental in not only driving investment performance but also establishing the foundational infrastructure for our fixed income operations.
about the job
The role will include, but not limited to:
Portfolio Management:
-Develop and implement fixed income investment strategies aligned with the family office's overall objectives and risk appetite.
-Construct and manage diversified fixed income portfolios, focusing on Asia IG/HY or Global IG credit markets.
-Conduct in-depth credit research, macro analysis, and market surveillance to identify investment opportunities and risks.

-Monitor portfolio performance, rebalance as necessary, and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
-Manage currency and interest rate risk within the portfolio.
Fixed Income Desk Establishment:
-Establish and cultivate strong relationships with investment banks and other financial institutions to secure trading lines and access to market liquidity.
-Collaborate closely with the back office team to design and implement robust fixed income operational processes, including trade execution, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.
-Develop and document internal policies and procedures for fixed income trading and portfolio management.
-Identify and implement necessary technology solutions to support fixed income operations.
Relationship Management & Collaboration:
-Leverage existing relationships within the fixed income investment banking community to benefit the family office.
-Work effectively with internal teams, including risk management, operations, and compliance.
-Provide market insights and contribute to the overall investment strategy of the family office.
about the manager/team
The team consist of members from renowned outfits with an institutionalised approach.
skills and experience required
-Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. CFA designation is highly preferred.
-Ideally min 15 years of fixed income portfolio management experience with a demonstrable track record of successfully managing multiple fixed income portfolios.
-Deep expertise in either Asia Investment Grade, Asia High Yield, or Global Investment Grade credit markets.
-Strong existing relationships within the fixed income investment banking community are essential.
-Proven ability to establish and optimize fixed income trading and operational processes.
-Solid understanding of fixed income instruments, derivatives, and risk management techniques.
-Excellent analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.
-Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a lean environment.
-Prior experience in a established buyside outfit in a similar capacity would be preferred.
