Portfolio Management:
Develop and execute a global high yield fixed income investment strategy, with a focus on long-term capital preservation and alpha generation.
Conduct in-depth fundamental credit analysis, monitor existing positions, and manage risk exposure across the portfolio.
Manage a diversified portfolio, including investments in high yield corporate bonds and other credit instruments.
Strategic & Operational Build-Out:
Lead the establishment of a best-in-class investment desk, defining and implementing operational best practices and workflows.
Collaborate with our back office and operations teams to integrate new processes, ensuring seamless trade settlement, compliance, and reporting.
Establish and cultivate relationships with sell-side banks and prime brokers to secure and manage trading lines.
Leadership & Collaboration:
Work closely with the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to align the high yield strategy with the broader investment objectives of the family office.
Provide market insights, present investment recommendations, and communicate performance and risk metrics to the CIO and other stakeholders.
skills and experience required
A minimum of 15 years of experience in fixed income portfolio management, with significant expertise in global high yield credit.
Proven experience in a senior role, ideally within an institutional asset management firm, hedge fund, or family office.
Deep understanding of credit analysis, risk management, and portfolio construction techniques.
Demonstrated ability to build an investment function from the ground up, including establishing operational procedures would be a plus. Ability to bring on institutional relationships.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment strategies to senior leadership.
A CFA charter holder would be an added advantage.
