As a Presales Cloud Architect, you'll be at the forefront of our sales cycle, acting as a pivotal technical expert who translates complex cloud solutions into compelling business value for our prospective clients. This role is ideal for a seasoned cloud architect with a passion for customer engagement, solution design, and a strong understanding of the sales process. While your deep technical knowledge will be crucial, your primary focus will be on shaping solutions, driving technical wins, and enabling sales, with minimal direct involvement in post-sales delivery.
Solution Evangelism & Technical Sales:
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for prospective clients, understanding their business challenges and technical requirements.
Articulate and demonstrate the value proposition of company's cloud solutions (e.g., specific cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or managed services) through presentations, workshops, and technical deep-dives.
Lead technical discussions, whiteboard sessions, and proof-of-concept (POC) engagements to showcase solution capabilities and address client concerns.
Solution Design & Architecture:
Collaborate closely with the sales team to develop tailored, innovative, and competitive cloud architectural solutions that meet client needs and align with their strategic objectives.
Design and propose conceptual and logical cloud architectures, ensuring scalability, security, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with industry best practices.
Create comprehensive technical proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and cost estimates for proposed cloud solutions.
Discovery & Qualification:
Conduct in-depth technical discovery sessions with clients to uncover pain points, existing infrastructure, and desired future states.
Assist the sales team in qualifying opportunities from a technical perspective, identifying key technical decision-makers and potential blockers.
Market & Competitive Intelligence:
Stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and competitive landscapes within the cloud computing industry (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, serverless, containers, AI/ML in cloud, etc.).
Provide insights to product development and marketing teams based on market feedback and client requirements.
Internal Collaboration & Enablement:
Act as a bridge between the sales team and technical delivery teams, ensuring a smooth transition of won opportunities for successful implementation.
Contribute to the development of sales collateral, technical documentation, and best practices for presales engagements.
Train and mentor sales representatives on the technical aspects of cloud offerings.

skills and experience required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a cloud architecture role, with at least 3-4 years specifically in a presales capacity.
Proven track record of successfully contributing to significant cloud solution sales.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP); multi-cloud experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cloud services including compute, storage, networking, databases, security, and management tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless computing, and DevOps principles.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles as they apply to cloud environments (e.g., identity and access management, data encryption, network security).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates) is a plus.
Presales & Soft Skills:
- Exceptional presentation, communication , and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences (C-level executives, IT managers, developers).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a consultative approach to understanding and addressing client needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative sales team in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- Cloud Architect certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL).
