Our client is a market leader in the heavy equipment and power systems industry, serving as the authorized distributor for a world-renowned engine brand. They are looking for a capable and organized Service Engineer to support their engine product line across marine and industrial sectors.
Role Overview
This is a critical support role where you will act as the "control tower" for service operations. You will not just be technical; you will be responsible for coordinating resources, managing work orders, and ensuring the service team operates efficiently to meet revenue targets. It is an ideal role for an engineer who enjoys a mix of technical troubleshooting and operational management.
Key Responsibilities
... Service Coordination & Job Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of service jobs, from opening work orders to tracking progress and ensuring timely invoicing to customers.
Manpower & Resource Allocation: Mobilize and schedule servicemen and sub-contractors to ensure optimal utilization and efficient job completion.
Technical Support: Provide pre-sales and after-sales technical advice to customers and internal teams, assisting with troubleshooting complex engine problems when required.
Administrative Support: Handle the administration for the service team, including managing leave, warranty reporting (SIM reports), and ensuring compliance with ISO and safety procedures.
Stakeholder Management: Liaise with department managers, customers, and vendors (raising local orders) to resolve issues and ensure smooth service delivery.
The Ideal Candidate
Educational Background: Min. Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or relevant
Industry Experience: Proven experience in a Service Engineer, Service Coordinator, or Technical Support role within the heavy machinery, diesel engine, or power generation industry.
Skillset: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage work orders, invoices, and team schedules. Technical knowledge of engines/gensets is essential for troubleshooting support.
