About the Role
This company is looking for an APAC Tax Manager to join its growing finance team in Singapore. The role is part of a commercially-minded Global Tax team within the finance department, dedicated to ensuring the company's tax affairs are efficient, transparent, and compliant.
A key part of this role is to manage the outsourced preparation of corporate and withholding tax computations across the APAC region, including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, and Thailand. This also involves managing risks and identifying opportunities to automate and streamline tasks. In addition, you will be assisting with the preparation of IFRS and local GAAP tax reporting and provisions for both local statutory accounts and group reporting. This will involve collaborating with regional finance, accounting, and finance systems teams to gather data, including extracting information directly from the company's ERP system. You'll also support the regional lead on various projects, such as new country expansions, and work with external advisors to ensure all tax requirements are met. Finally, you will be assisting with quarterly transfer pricing calculations and reconciliations, preparing Master and Local Files, and tracking intercompany agreements, and engaging in team-wide initiatives, including budgeting, forecasting, planning, risk assessment, and controls.
skills and experience needed
The ideal candidate is a proactive and independent self-starter who is excited about solving new problems as the role evolves with the company's rapid growth. We're looking for someone with some practical experience in a tax or accounting role, proficiency in Excel, and comfort working with large datasets. A solid understanding of core accounting principles and excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail are also a must. A degree in Finance or Accounting, direct tax experience in an in-house corporate environment, or a professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, or CPA would be a great asset.
