The judges were particularly impressed with Randstad Singapore’s innovative use of technology in its peer recognition program called “Just One More”. Just One More is about building a culture of going above and beyond, and encouraging people to continually improve in all areas – be it professionally or personally.
“Using a customized internal mobile app, our staff are allocated 100 points each month which they can give to anyone in the organization who has gone beyond their job function to help a colleague,” says Claire Smart, Head of HR Southeast Asia. “This could be for passing a business lead, cross-selling, living the values, thanking someone for buying lunch, or simply showing appreciation to a colleague for their mentorship.”
“Once a year, we also run a Dream Destination campaign, where our top performers are entered into a lucky draw where they can win travel tickets to cool vacation destinations. Additionally, in pursuit of service excellence, we ran a competition this year to reward high-performing teams who achieved the best Net Promoter Scores, based on a newly implemented automated online client satisfaction survey.”
Reward and recognition are not just HR matters, Claire emphasizes. “You need a truly integrated approach across all functions to ensure that every employee feels appreciated and that the business consistently rewards performance in all areas. The use of technology and automation definitely raises the ‘touch’ aspect of reward and recognition to a whole new level. This really enables us to bring our Tech & Touch strategy to life.”
