Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will drive financial integrity by synthesizing complex data into precise journal entries and comprehensive business documentation. Your remit includes spearheading the monthly closing cycle, generating detailed cost accounting reports, and performing rigorous general ledger reconciliations to verify line-item accuracy. By proactively gathering cross-functional information, you will validate financial events and implement robust internal control procedures to safeguard company assets. You will act as a strategic advisor on budgetary matters, reviewing expenditures to recommend optimized funding levels and maintain strict cost oversight. Beyond routine reporting, you will evaluate balance sheet trends and communicate key variances to the controller group while resolving any accounting discrepancies. Furthermore, you will manage the evolution of financial databases and automated systems, ensuring all data inputs meet GAAP and SOX compliance standards during internal and external audits.
Skills and experience required
- Degree in Accounting; professional qualifications like ACCA, CPA, or equivalent are highly regarded.
- Relevant years of experience in finance and accounting in a multinational environment.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial and statistical data.
- Ability to research and analyze a variety of information.
- Competence in operating various office equipment, including computers and adding machines.
- Ability to prepare, examine, and verify financial documents and reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A detail-oriented and organized approach, with the resilience to work independently in a regional role.
