about the job
As an Associate Underwriter, you will step into a professional role focused on the technical evaluation of individual risks. You will be working on Facultative Reinsurance, which involves the detailed assessment of specific, high-value risks across all lines of business, including Property, Engineering, Marine, and Liability.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Underwriting Support: Reviewing statistical data and analyzing contract wordings (slips) to ensure accuracy in the risk assessment process.
Data Processing: Entering and managing technical business information within internal systems to maintain high-quality data integrity.
Research & Reporting: Extracting key observations from reports and conducting basic research to support the underwriting team.
Statistical Compilation: Assisting in the preparation of underwriting reports, including reinsured and insurer statistics categorized by underwriting year.
Ad-hoc Projects: Participating in various projects as assigned to improve departmental operations and data analysis.

Technical Savvy: Strong working knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables and formulas), PowerPoint, and Word.
