About the job
- Developing a deep understanding of the Singapore market dynamics for the relevant category, including supply chains, competitors, and commodity market impacts.
- Owning the complete category strategy, defining the product range, brand positioning, and quality/price ladder to align with customer needs.
- Identifying new products and suppliers to fill range gaps and capitalize on growth opportunities.
- Leading the growth of business in new channels by identifying and securing major new customer opportunities.
- Ensuring pricing strategies across all customer segments maximize margin while maintaining a competitive position.
- Collaborating with marketing, sales, and procurement teams to execute regular promotional activities that drive sales momentum.
- Developing and delivering product training programs to ensure the sales and customer service teams have expert knowledge.
- Supporting key customers with menu and product innovation to help them reduce labour, save time, and lower food costs.
- Working closely with the procurement team to align on buying strategies and with the sales team to coordinate volume forecasts.
- Troubleshooting inventory issues to clear stock effectively and minimize product write-offs.

You will report directly to the Head of Business Development. This role is highly collaborative, positioning you as a key partner and "wingman" to the sales and procurement teams. You will work closely with various internal departments, including marketing and the culinary chef teams, to drive category success. The company culture emphasizes teamwork and shared success.
skills and experience required
- Bachelor Degree / Diploma in Business or related field.
- Minimum 5 years in Business Development / Sales within food industry.
- Experience in developing and executing category strategies, including product ranging and pricing.
- Experience in identifying new business opportunities and suppliers.
- The capability to develop and deliver product training programs for sales and customer service teams.
- Proficiency in managing supplier relationships and driving financial terms such as rebates and marketing funds.
