about the job
In this foundational role, you will provide essential support to the marine underwriting team, ensuring the smooth administration and processing of insurance policies. You will play a vital part in maintaining departmental efficiency while learning the complexities of the maritime insurance market.
Your responsibilities include:
Assisting with the preparation of price estimates, coverage proposals, and formal presentations for marine cargo insurance products.
Liaising with insurance brokers and clients to collect and verify necessary information required for risk assessment.
Managing the issuance of insurance policies, including any subsequent changes (endorsements) and certificates of insurance.
Ensuring all documentation is accurate, meets company standards, and adheres to regulatory requirements.
Supporting business development activities by maintaining updated records of clients and potential leads to assist in portfolio growth.

skills and experience required
Educational Background: A Diploma or Degree in any field; candidates with a background or interest in Maritime Studies are welcome to apply.
Professional Qualifications: Possession of foundational general insurance certifications (such as the Basic Certificate in Insurance, Personal General Insurance, and Commercial General Insurance).
Professional Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience within the insurance industry is preferred; however, proactive entry-level candidates with a strong interest in underwriting are encouraged to apply.
Communication Skills: Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Core Competencies: A conscientious team player who is organized, tactful, and able to manage daily priorities effectively.
