about the job
This is an exciting and highly focused creative role based in Singapore, where you will be at the forefront of beverage flavour innovation for the Southeast Asian market. Your primary mission will be the creation of new and winning sweet flavors specifically for beverage applications, based on internal projects, customer briefings, and your own inspiration.
- Developing unique flavour profiles and matching competitor products with the support of the analytical department.
- Modifying and perfecting existing flavour recipes to meet specific customer, technological, or legal requirements.
- Managing key internal and customer-led projects, driving innovation from concept to completion.
- Conducting organoleptic evaluations of new raw materials and flavour creations.
- Collaborating with sales teams on customer visits and presentations, providing your expert technical support.
- Ensuring a smooth transition from lab to factory by supporting the initial production of new flavours.
about the manager/team
You will report directly to the Head of Department and work within a talented team of flavourists and lab assistants. The role is highly collaborative, requiring close co-operation with the Product Management and Flavour Application departments on various projects. You will also be a key knowledge holder within the company, with opportunities to train other employees on flavour-related issues.
skills and experience required
- Minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a Flavourist, with a sustained history of new project wins.
- Specialized experience in creating beverage flavours for the Southeast Asian market is highly preferred.
- A University Degree or Advanced Diploma in food science, chemistry, or a related field is required.
- Knowledge of flavour and food regulations in various countries.
- Deep understanding of raw materials, ingredient costing, functionality, and stability.
- Proficiency in organoleptic evaluation techniques and an advanced understanding of analytical methods (GC, HPLC, MS).
- Willingness to travel within Southeast Asia to support sales and customer projects.
The final position title and remuneration package will be commensurate with the candidate's years of experience, specific expertise, and the extensiveness of their flavour portfolio.
