About the Role
My client is a local data center developer focused on high‑density, hyperscale‑ready facilities built for cloud and AI workloads. As part of their expansion, they are looking for a Head of Marketing to build and lead the full marketing function for our fast‑growing data center business.
This is a hands-on, sole‑contributor role where you will develop the brand, drive market visibility, and support commercial growth from the ground up.
The ideal candidate brings direct experience in the data center industry and thrives in a startup environment where speed, ownership, and adaptability are essential.
About the role
- Build the company’s marketing strategy from scratch, aligned with business and sales goals.
- Develop brand positioning, messaging, and value propositions for enterprise, hyperscale, and channel audiences.
- Execute all marketing activities independently from planning to delivery including content, digital, events, and campaigns.
- Establish and grow the company’s brand presence in the data center and digital infrastructure ecosystem.
- Create thought leadership content around sustainability, connectivity, cloud, and DC innovation.
- Manage corporate communications, media engagement, and executive visibility.
- Develop demand generation programs to support enterprise and channel sales pipelines.
- Produce sales enablement materials: pitch decks, case studies, product sheets, competitive insights.
- Translate technical data center capabilities into clear, compelling customer‑facing messaging.
- Support go‑to‑market launches for new facilities, expansions, and service offerings.
- Conduct market and competitor research to inform product positioning.
Requirements
- 5–10+ years of marketing experience in the data center industry (colocation, hyperscale, cloud, critical infrastructure, or related tech).
- Proven ability to operate in a startup or early‑stage environment building processes, systems, and brand foundations from zero.
- Experience as a sole contributor or in a lean team where you personally execute campaigns, content, and strategy.
- Strong understanding of the DC ecosystem: colocation, connectivity, cloud, power/cooling, sustainability, and enterprise buying behavior.
