About the JobAs the Director, Cargo and Liability, you will hold a pivotal leadership position within the Specialty Lines division. You will be responsible for the P&L and strategic direction of the Cargo and Liability portfolios, ensuring profitable growth through disciplined underwriting and robust claims oversight. Your role involves setting regional risk appetites, authorizing high-limit exposures, and collaborating with actuarial teams to refine pricing models. Skills and Experience RequiredTo be successful in this role, you should possess:
15+ years of experience within the Marine insurance industry, specifically within an Insurer or P&I Club environment.
Extensive technical knowledge of Marine Cargo, Freight Forwarders’ Liability, and Charterers' Liability insurance products.
A proven track record of managing a profitable book of business and leading underwriting strategy.
Strong broker relationships and a deep understanding of the regional maritime market dynamics.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior underwriters and manage senior stakeholders.
Relevant professional qualifications such as ACII or a degree in Maritime Studies, Law, or Insurance.
