about the job
In this position, you will execute end-to-end management of motor insurance claims, ensuring accurate adjudication and adherence to established service standards. The operational environment requires seamless coordination with diverse stakeholders, ranging from policyholders to legal representatives, to resolve standard and complex cases efficiently. You will also provide guidance to support staff to maintain operational consistency within the department.
• Claims Adjudication: Processing and managing Own Damage, Windscreen, Third Party Property, and Third Party Injury claims expeditiously while ensuring compliance with internal protocols and service benchmarks.
• Stakeholder Management: Coordinating directly with policyholders, intermediaries, investigators, surveyors, adjusters, and workshops to facilitate smooth claims resolution and timely excess recoveries.
• Legal Coordination: Liaising with panel and third-party solicitors regarding cases involving Originating Claims, and attending court hearings, meetings, or seminars when necessary.
• Financial Governance: Approving payments within designated limits of authority, verifying financial transaction accuracy, and conducting periodic file reviews to adjust financial reserves.
• Internal Collaboration: Advising underwriting teams on technical observations identified during claims processing, including policy breaches and claims experience trends, while guiding administrative assistants.

You will report directly to the Claims Manager and work within a structured team of claims professionals. The environment is collaborative and process-driven, offering clear operational guidelines and technical support to ensure professional development. Team members maintain open channels of communication to balance individual caseloads and achieve collective service level agreements.
skills and experience required
To be considered for this position, you should fulfill the following objective criteria.
• Education: A Diploma or Degree qualification, supplemented with a Certificate in General Insurance (CGI) or an equivalent professional insurance certification.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in motor insurance claims assessment and portfolio management.
• Technical Skills: Competency in handling diverse motor claim types, including third-party injury, property damage, and recovery processes.
• Core Capabilities: Effective analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of meticulousness and attention to detail.
• Communication: Effective communication competencies to manage legal counsel and external industry stakeholders.
