Payroll Processing & Operations
End-to-End Payroll: Support the in-house payroll team by processing monthly payroll for employees in Singapore using the ADP/SAP payroll system, covering all New Hires, Leavers, and Employee Life Cycle changes
Manual Payments: Manage the preparation of manual payments outside the normal pay run, including post-pay payments such as tax adjustments and manual termination settlements
Process Improvement: Assist in the documentation of key payroll-related procedures with periodic reviews to ensure internal and regulatory requirements are maintained
Regional Alignment: Participate in country and regional initiatives to align payroll processes and share best practices across regional teams
Financial Reconciliation & Governance
Reconciliation: Prepare monthly reconciliation of payroll clearing accounts and general ledger-related activities for submission to risk management
Governance: Strictly adhere to payroll governance processes and perform 4-eye checks based on segregation of duties across team members
Audit & Compliance: Work with Group Tax, Finance, Audit, and Compliance teams to ensure all operations meet internal standards
Tax & Statutory Compliance
Tax Management: Manage monthly and year-end tax processes, including income tax submissions and tax clearance procedures
Legislative Compliance: maintain a strong working knowledge of all payroll-related legislation requirements for Singapore, ensuring valid pension, tax, and employment practices
Advisory & Stakeholder Management
Employee Support: Provide excellent customer service by responding to employees’ payroll queries and offering relevant advisory support
Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain key relationships with the Country Head of HR, Business Partners, HR Advisory, external vendors, and government agencies
skills and experience required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a payroll or finance-related environment
Good knowledge of SAP Payroll or other payroll systems; familiarity with Workday is highly desirable
Proven experience in processing in-house Singapore payroll and managing income tax submissions
Experience in account reconciliation and general ledger activities
Strong knowledge of pension, tax, and payroll-related employment matters in Singapore
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
High level of integrity and ability to exercise discretion with confidential information
Excellent communication skills (face-to-face and non-face-to-face) with the ability to interact professionally at all levels
