Lead the development and implementation of the regulatory and standards strategy for electric vehicle (EV) charging products across the APAC region.
Define and oversee the high-level compliance roadmap for the product portfolio to ensure alignment with long-term business objectives.
Provide expert regulatory compliance support in the areas of Safety, EMC/Wireless, Metrology, and Communications/Controls Protocol for the development and maintenance of charging products.
Shape present and future technical regulations and standards by representing the organization in key standards development organizations (e.g., IEC, BSMI, KATS) and industry association.
Evaluate product design concepts early in the development cycle to proactively prevent and resolve non-compliances and technical incompatibilities.
Drive product compliance and performance validation from concept to production. Plan, coordinate, execute, and support compliance testing at both internal and external test labs.
knowledge and skills
Msc /Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical area
Min 8 years of experience in a product compliance or regulatory engineering in EV charging testing
Expert-level knowledge of product safety standards applicable to charging (EVSE) products, including the IEC/EN 61851 series and IEC/EN 62368-1.
Knowledge of standards for energy storage, power conversion, bi-directional power transfer, and electricity energy metering is highly preferred.
Solid understanding of EMC/Wireless standards and practices (e.g., IEC 61000 series, FCC).
Familiarity with charging protocol standards (e.g., SAE, CCS, CHAdeMO, GB).
Understanding of energy/electricity metering standards (e.g., MID, IEC 62052/62053, ANSI C12.1).
CProven track record of working, negotiating, and interfacing with recognized certification bodies (e.g., UL, TUV, DEKRA, Intertek, SEARI, KTL, KTC, JET).
Previous hands-on hardware/software design experience encompassing analog and digital design, digital communications, EV charging systems, EV connectors and cables, high voltage (HV) systems, or power conversion will be a plus
