about the job
You will be responsible for business development and sales activities, requiring to communicate with Japanese clientele. The core objective is to build trust and long-term relationships with customers in the Foodservice sector, particularly those in the Japanese culinary space.
- Developing joint business opportunities with customers by understanding their menu and market positioning to provide ideal ingredient solutions.
- Utilizing gap analysis and range matrix methods to identify product opportunities and drive basket growth within current customer accounts.
- Identifying and nurturing new customer opportunities to grow the total customer base over time.
- Developing annual account plans and presenting business reviews to key customers to highlight performance and identify future growth opportunities.
- Owning the accuracy of system pricing for your customer sector and immediately addressing any low or negative margin issues.
- Ensuring all invoice queries are handled in a timely manner and following up on overdue payments to keep customer accounts within terms.
- Identifying sales and gross profit deficits early and responding with market activities to fill the gap and meet monthly targets.
- Providing the Business Development and Procurement teams with accurate volume forecasts to align demand and supply.
- Collaborating with the marketing and chef teams to provide customers with additional value through marketing programs and menu development support.
about the manager/team
You will report to the Head of Sales and be considered one of the company's "sales super stars". You will work in close collaboration with the Business Development, Procurement, Marketing, and Executive Chef teams to provide expert advice and support to your customers.
skills and experience required
- Minimum 5 years experience in a business development or sales management role within the Foodservice industry.
- Possess knowledge of Japanese food products.
- A proven ability to develop annual account plans and conduct business reviews with key customers.
- Customer management skills, with experience handling pricing, invoicing, and payments.
- Ability to identify the right product fit for customer needs.
