about the jobAs the SVP, Trust and Wealth Planning, you will drive the development and delivery of insurance-based wealth solutions, with a strong focus on Private Placement Life Insurance (PPLI). You will act as a trusted partner to clients and their advisers, supporting the design and implementation of tailored wealth strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Client & Adviser Engagement: Build and maintain robust relationships with UHNW clients, family offices, private wealth lawyers, external asset managers (EAMs), and tax advisers.
Solution Design & Delivery: Support the structuring and execution of bespoke, cross-border insurance solutions that align with clients' succession, investment, and governance objectives.
Business Development: Identify and originate new PPLI opportunities, developing a strong pipeline through targeted prospecting and leveraging existing intermediary networks.
Coordination & Execution: Work seamlessly with internal global teams and external partners (insurers, custodians, investment managers) to ensure smooth execution and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Market Leadership: Represent the business at industry events, distribute thought leadership, and position solutions within a broader wealth structuring framework.
Reporting directly to the Head of Asia / Head of Distribution, you will join a collaborative, commercially focused, and professional regional team. The organizational culture emphasizes a client-centric, long-term approach to business development. You will work closely with global counterparts across the wider group network to leverage key banking and legal partnerships, ensuring the seamless delivery of complex, multi-jurisdictional cases.
skills and experience requiredEducation & Qualifications: Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline. Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., STEP, CFA, CFP) are highly desirable. Appropriate regulatory licensing in Hong Kong and/or Singapore is preferred.
Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in private client advisory, private banking, wealth management, or insurance-based solutions (specifically UHNW life and/or PPLI). Experience operating in Singapore and the wider Asian region is essential.
Technical Expertise: Sound understanding of insurance-based wealth solutions, HNW structures (Trusts, FICs, Singapore FOs), investment principles, and cross-border tax/succession planning.
Relationship Network: An established network of private banks, EAMs, family offices, and professional legal/tax advisers.
Language Skills: Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin and English is required, as the role involves managing and presenting complex wealth solutions to North Asian clients and cross-border intermediaries who communicate predominantly in Mandarin.
Personal Attributes: High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound commercial judgment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial solutions simply and effectively.
