about the jobWe are seeking a high-caliber Vice President of Marine Insurance to lead a sophisticated portfolio of maritime accounts. This is a senior-level brokerage role designed for an expert who can navigate the complexities of Hull & Machinery (H&M), Protection & Indemnity (P&I), and associated maritime liabilities.
As the VP, you will serve as the primary architect of risk transfer strategies, blending technical placement expertise with high-level relationship management. You will act as the vital bridge between global shipowners and the insurance market, ensuring coverage is strategically aligned with commercial objectives. Key responsibilities include:
Portfolio Leadership: Driving client retention through technical excellence and bespoke service.
Complex Risk Structuring: Engineering innovative coverage for intricate maritime risks and cargo logistics.
Market Advocacy: Leading high-stakes negotiations with underwriters and P&I Clubs to secure market-leading policy wordings.

skills and experience requiredTo be successful in this role, you should possess:
Industry Tenure: A minimum of 3–5 years of specialized experience in Marine Insurance Broking (senior-level placement experience is highly prioritized).
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Maritime Studies, Insurance, Law, or a related discipline.
Certifications: Must hold BCP (Basic Insurance Concepts & Principles) and CGI (Commercial General Insurance) certifications. Advanced designations like ACII are highly preferred.
Network: Established relationships within the London, Singapore, or International underwriting markets.
Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of Hull, Charterers’ Liability, P&I Club structures, and Marine Business Interruption.
